New England Impressionist
- KIM
- An impressionist oil painter, living and painting along the New England coast, Kim Muller-Thym is drawn to shoreline scenes especially as they are affected by weather, time of day and seasons. Being a farm girl, she also loves the countryside, sheep and barns. She is a member of the Lyme Art Association and the Salmagundi Art Club in NYC. Among her awards: the John Stobart Award at The Mystic Seaport International, The Harriet Lumis Award and Alden Bryan Memorial Award at The Academic Artists Association National Exhibition of Contemporary Realism, and The Salmagundi. Her art education includes the Maryland Institute College of Art, the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in CT, and the Instituto de Allende in San Miguel, Mexico and the Plein Air Painters of America. Her work is sold in galleries from Virginia to Nova Scotia. Her background includes degrees in German literature and psychology and thirty years of journalism.
